During our visit to the stunning island of Kefalonia, we had the pleasure of dining at Mpotsolos Restaurant, and it was an experience we won’t soon forget. The food was outstanding—authentic Greek flavors, fresh ingredients, and generous portions that left us completely satisfied.
What truly made the evening special was the exceptional service. A heartfelt shoutout to the remarkable 18-year-old young man who was our waiter. He was professional, warm, and impressively attentive. His genuine hospitality and maturity far exceeded expectations, and he made us feel like honored guests rather than just customers.
The ambiance of the restaurant was relaxed and welcoming, perfect for enjoying a leisurely meal in one of Greece’s most beautiful settings. Prices were fair, and the quality was top-notch.

This place is absolutely worth a detour if you’re a fan of meat. As someone who loves to try a bit of everything, I was thrilled to find they offer a 1 kg meat selection—perfect for sharing (or not!). Check out my pictures and you’ll see what I mean—we even had to ask for a takeaway box because there was so much food.
One tip: be sure to specify how you’d like your steak cooked. Ours was a little more done than my usual (I prefer it a bit rarer), but the flavors were still fantastic. Highly recommend!- Wait time

Don’t listen to the negative comments this is simply the best value and best quality food on the island for a local Taverna. Very traditional and exceptional , if you don’t visit this taverna you really really missing out. 100% best Greek salad on the island. Prices are unrivalled anywhere in Kefalonia. Don’t expect Michelin star but good quality simple local food, you won’t be disappointed.

Lovely place to eat. Beautiful scenery and picturesque veranda. The food is cooked on demand...have to wait a bit but honestly you will be rewarded.... highly recommend this place

A lovely restaurant. Could do with some background music but that is just my personal preference. A smaller menu but that is not a bad thing as what they do is good quality. The beef steak is enormous so bring a big appetite. Definitely the better restaurant out of the two in town. Good service from the waiting staff.

We had very generous portions of various types of greek steaks. We had pork ribs (with roasted pork skin), goat ribs (very good), pork steak and pork neck. We all liked the steaks that were nicely accommodated with a big portion of Greek salad. We recommend the experience of dinning here!

What made the experience even better were the incredibly warm and welcoming people. The hospitality was genuine, and we even received a surprise dessert on the house!

Amazing culinary experience. I dare say I felt like a local. The sheep steak and sheep burger were killing it. Sikotaria, the lamb and goat kidney and liver appetizer, and the oven baked feta with peppers (I forgot the Greek name, sorry, but not the taste) were great. All the family enjoyed the meal and our wallet was happy too at 10-15 euros a person (drink included).

This was by far my favourite dining experience in Kefalonia. The food was delicious, authentic and the service was excellent. The amount of food you get for the price point is incredible. We were 6 people and each paid around 15€ for a feast including many starter dishes, 2kg meat, chips and salads etc. The staff even offered a free dessert at the end of the meal. This is a must visit.

Popped in here for lunch on my way back to vlachata after being up mount Ainos. The service was really fast, despite only one guy serving everyone. He even offered me a charging port for my phone. Very polite, very friendly. The food was delicious too, I had the pork chop. Would 100% recommend. It’s also very close to the monastery too!

A must try tavern if you travel to Kefalonia, it is located in a very unique village. The portions are more than enough ,for sure try the steak which is huge and tasty! The environment is very nice especially on summer months a cool breeze makes it ideal for dinner!

Excellent dishes, very attentive and friendly staff. It’s a traditional Greek meat tavern so they offer a variety of meat options. We visited twice and were satisfied with the quality and service each time. Would visit again.
Stopped here for lunch while looking for the monastery. A very enjoyable visit. The staff were friendly. Ordered chicken cutlets. The order took a little longer than expected but I believe this was because the food was prepared fresh. It arrived hot and was very delicious and juicy. Very affordable too. Recommended!

Beautiful restaurant very busy with islanders from all over who travel in order to eat here, especially in the cool of the evening.We went here at 11.50am, not realising the restaurant did not open until 12 noon. The kind staff let us choose a table and took our order for drink. Once the BBQ was fired up, the young waiter came to take our food order. We had amazing burgers and chips and very nice goat ribs and chips. The prices were very reasonable, with 3 main courses and 5 cans of iced tea costing 42.50 euros
